75 days, dwarf — 'BrandyFred' is a high yielding, rugose, potato leaf dwarf variety that produces smooth, oblate, purple fruit that range between ten to sixteen ounces and possess a rich, well-balanced, delicious flavor.
This "Dwarf Tomato Project" variety was selected from the "Tasty family" (a cross made and named by Vince Lavallo in 2008 between 'Dwarf Wild Fred' and 'Brandywine'). Involved in its stabilization were Vince, Linda Black, Craig LeHoullier, Robbins Hail, Bill Yoder, Richard Watson, Patrick Sullivan, Sandra Tipton, Shawn Conant, and Bill Minkey. Introduced for the 2016 gardening season. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
In an effort to keep this variety available to home gardeners, 'BrandyFred' has been released by "The Dwarf Tomato Project" (the breeder) to the public under the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI). You have the freedom to use these OSSI-Pledged seeds in any way you choose. In return, if you save seeds or use 'BrandyFred' to breed a new variety, you pledge not to restrict others' use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.
