McGarity's Mortgage Lifter
90 days, indeterminate — The regular leaf vines of 'McGarity's Mortgage Lifter' are very productive. Its fruit are are oblate-shaped with some ribbing, large, ten to sixteen ounces, mild but leaning towards the classic tart tomato flavor.
'McGarity's Mortgage Lifter' was sent to us by Craig LeHoullier who received the seed from the Seed Savers Exchange (SSE Tomato 1686). Not much documentation could be found regarding its history. Bill Minkey (WI MI B) listed the variety in the 1997 Seed Savers Exchange catalog stating that he had received the tomato from Curtis D. Choplin (SC CH C) in 1993 and that it originated from, "H. H. McGarity of Greek, South Carolina."[1] Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
