Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.
Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

This was my first year trying to grow vegetables in this area. I was so busy with our Home & Garden Show then our Garden Tour, my own garden got a very late start. Due to a past over infestation of horsetail reeds, the entire garden had to be done in containers which was alien to me. When I found the old packet of Micro Tom Tomatoes, I was disappointed to see the seeds were packed for 2020. Yes, I know tomato seeds can stay productive for fairly long times but these weren't saved in a good spot. Being an optimist, I planted them and was thrilled to see them germinate. My too-busy schedule kept me from transplanting all my seedlings in a reasonable time. I lost many, especially my asparagus (all of it) but none of any of the tomato varieties, even the 7 year old seeds. The Micro Toms are impressive little guys. I'm looking forward to a heavy harvest. I'll definitely plant them again.

I planted these around the end of March. They took awhile to germinate but now they actually are blooming. Easy tomato plant to maintain.
