80 days โ€” 'White Emergo' runner beans, also known as 'Sweet White' runner beans, is similar to 'Scarlet Runner' bean but with white flowers instead of red. The vigorous vines produce prolific yields of long, slender pods. The beans are quite good when the pods are picked young and tender. They are full of flavor and are fleshy with a fine texture. Pick them regularly to ensure a continuous crop. Left to mature on the vines, the seeds are large, white, and also excellent when used as a dry bean.

Runner beans grow well in almost any soil but benefit from soil that has been well-dug and manured. Support growing plants with sturdy canes, netting or bean frames. Each ounce is approximately 25 to 30 seeds.
Planting Instructions:
Beans prefer well-drained, rich soil in a sunny location. Make sure you keep them well watered in the summer heat.

Beans are a tender vegetable and you should not plant them until all danger of frost has passed and the soil remains above 65ยบF. Sow seeds 1-1ยฝ inches deep, every two to three inches. Bush-type beans do not require support.

For seed saving, allow pods to remain on the plant until they are brittle and open easily. However, if you live in an area with a short growing season, harvest as close to dry as possible and finish drying indoors. Rain and freezing temps will damage beans.

โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… Practically Faultless in All Respects!
By David Cutcher on January 8, 2021

These are called White Lady runner beans in England, and ranked as one of the top 5 green beans to grown. I cannot praise White Emergo runner bean highly enough; it's practically faultless in all respects. Twelve inch pods have no fibre, and weigh 2.5 to 3 oz. each. Use as green beans, or as fresh mature beans, or dry them for later. Save enough to plant next year.

Make sure you have adequate trellis space. Great for creating shade. Most importantly, White Emergo has the thickest, most succulent and tenderest pods in the runner bean world. It's a strong grower and a wonderfully heavy cropper which sets a heavy crop whether we having a dull, wet summer or a sunny, dry one. Grow them over a trellis for children and gardener's delight. They grow so tall (15 ft) that I have had the pleasure of clipping them away from the telephone wires. Make a hole 12 inches deep with a rod. Stuff a small piece of meat to the bottom. Fill the hole, and plant the bean 2 inches deep, 4 inches apart. Have fun.
