Yellow Ailsa Craig
85 days, indeterminate — The regular leaf vines of 'Yellow Ailsa Craig' bear fruit that are globe-shaped, juicy, sweet, weigh two to three ounces each on average, and are as its name implies, yellow in color.
Little is known of the history of 'Yellow Ailsa Craig'. It is presumably a yellow variant of the old English production greenhouse variety simply called 'Ailsa Craig', which was introduced in 1912 and named after a small rocky island off of the west central Scottish coast near Girvan in Ayrshire. Our parent stock source was USDA, ARS accession number PI 289301 and it was listed as being collected in Hungary in 1963. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
