60 days โ€” The plants are erect and reach about eighteen inches in height and do well in cooler weather. The round, stringless, purple five to six inch long pods that turn dark green when cooked. Great for freezing, canning or fresh eating.

'Royal Burgundy' was released in about 1976. One ounce is approximately 110 seeds.

Planting Instructions:
Beans prefer well-drained, rich soil in a sunny location. Make sure you keep them well watered in the summer heat.

Beans are a tender vegetable and you should not plant them until all danger of frost has passed and the soil remains above 65ยบF. Sow seeds 1-1ยฝ inches deep, every two to three inches. Bush-type beans do not require support.

For seed saving, allow pods to remain on the plant until they are brittle and open easily. However, if you live in an area with a short growing season, harvest as close to dry as possible and finish drying indoors. Rain and freezing temps will damage beans.

โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… Grew well in Alaska
By Tessa Garry on November 6, 2015

I wasn't sure these would grow in our short growing season in Alaska (zone 4a) but I tried them in a raised bed anyway. I planted them the last week of May and although they were slow, I had near perfect germination. The Royal Burgundy was a great producer and I had fun searching for the purple beans amid the dark green leaves. They also froze well and I will grow them again.
