85 days, indeterminate — The foliage of 'Primrose Gage' is an interesting grayish blue-green color. The primrose-yellow fruit are about the size of a golf ball, with soft, almost velvety skin, similar to 'Garden Peach'. It has a distinctly sharp, sweet flavor.
Our initial seed sample was sent to us by David Pendergrass who obtained it from the USDA ARS as accession number PI 91458. The USDA reported that the variety was collected in 1931 by Dobbie & Company, Ltd. of Edinburgh, Scotland who collected the seed, ". . . in a village of a semi-nomadic tribe in the jungle of southern India between 5,000 and 8,000 feet altitude."
