Garden Peach Certified Naturally Grown Seed

90 days, indeterminate — Also known as 'Yellow Peach', 'Garden Peach' is an old commercial heirloom tomato variety. Its vigorous, regular leaf plants produce globe-shaped fruit that weigh from one to three ounces each, are a beautiful yellow color, and exhibit a characteristic pubescence (fuzziness) on their surface; much like a peach. The fruits store well and have a good, slightly sweet, mild flavor.

In her book entitled, "The Heirloom Tomato: From Garden to Table: Recipes, Portraits, and History of the World's Most Beautiful Fruit," Amy Goldman credits the origin of peach tomatoes to the plant breeding work of Elbert S. Carman, owner and editor of The Rural New-Yorker magazine. He introduced it in 1890 under the name of 'White Peach'. Seed companies immediately began listing the novelty under various synonyms and by the early 1900s, the efforts of their own breeding work had resulted in several new "peach-type" varieties. We have been growing this variety since 2001 and offering it since 2003. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
