Danish Export Tomato
Danish Export Tomato
70 days, indeterminate - The regular leaf plants are fairly short (3 to 4 feet) but somewhat sprawling, moderately productive, and early maturing. Its fruit are relativly uniform, weigh between 2 to 4 ounces, are smooth, red in color, globe to flattened-globe in shape, very juicy and tasty. It has an excellent flavor that is balanced between tart and sweet. The tartness hits the pallat immediately, but its sweetness lingers. When processed, for example into sauce or salsa, the sweetness really is enhanced.
'Danish Export' is one of the very few varieties developed in Denmark. It is mentioned in the Nordic Illustrated Encyclopedia of Horticulture in 1912, but the variety is believed to be even older.
