Yugo Roze
90 days, indeterminate — The vines of 'Yugo Roze' are a wispy, regular leaf type that benefit from support and are very productive. The fruit are pink (red flesh with clear skin), vary in shape from elongated to heart-shaped, and weigh from eight to twenty ounces with the majority averaging about ten ounces each. They are very meaty with few seeds and have an excellent, mildly sweet flavor with fruity, slightly strawberry-like, undertones.
'Yugo Roze' was sent to us in early 2017 by Bill Mende in Pennsylvania. After an article about the Victory Seed Company's mission ran in the March, 2017 issue of Farm Show Magazine, Bill contacted us about a variety of tomato he had received many years prior.
He told us that he had received this tomato from someone at work in, " ... 1991-1995. Sort of a paste tomato as they are elongated and come in various sizes. I don't remember the patient's name or where the seeds came from. All he told me is that he got them from a relative and that they came from [the former country of] Yugoslavia many years before."
Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
