78 days, indeterminate - The plants of "Yellow Pear' tend to be large, sprawling, and producing loads of fruit clusters. As its name implies, the fruit are yellow in color and pear-shaped, with firm skins, about one-inch in length, and have a nice flavor. Good in salads, sauces or by themselves and a bite sized snaking tomato. They have been fairly cold tolerant in our test gardens and are typically the last ones living every year.

Similar in description to the 'Red Pear.' Documented as a pre-1800 variety.[1]

Tomato Uses: Small Fruits / Salads
Fruit Color: Orange
Fruit Color: Yellow
Special Groups: Market Growers
Special Groups: "Epic" Tomatoes
Harvest Timing: Early/Short Season
Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

Great taste and lots of fruit on the plant. Very prolific. Another one of those I will plant every year.
