Winter Savory
Winter Savory
Satureja montana (winter savory or mountain savory), is a perennial, semi-evergreen herb in the family Lamiaceae, native to warm temperate regions of southern Europe, the Mediterranean, and Africa. It is similar to Summer Savory but with a more pungent peppery taste, similar to Thyme. It has small pinnate leaves and small white flowers with a pinky/purple tinge. It is a hardy semi-evergreen perennial that reaches 10" tall by 7" wide. It can be pruned to form a low-growing aromatic hedge for the herb garden and prefers a location in full sun and average well-drained soil. It also produces white little flowers which are a delightful garden feature. Excellent companion plant to beans and roses as it deters weevils and aphids.
Each packet contains 0.25 grams, which is approximately 175 seeds.
