65 days — As its name implies, 'Sugar Snap' is a sugar snap pea variety. Its pods are tasty and tender when young, but do develop strings at maturity. The productive vines are resistant to Fusarium Wilt Race 1,[1,2] are vigorous, and can reach six feet so they will require trellising or some other comparable form of support. While excellent when harvested and enjoyed fresh, the pods freeze well, but do not stand up to canning temperatures.

'Sugar Snap' pea was bred and introduced by Gallatin Valley Seed Company of Twin Falls, Idaho in 1977 and was an "All-America Selection®" winner in 1979. Each ounce is approximately 110 seeds, which is generally enough to plant at least a ten foot row.
Although the name or description of this variety refers to a modern company's name, the seed we are offering is in no way sourced from, "owned by" or connected with that company. The name is simply the historically accurate, common name for the variety giving credit to the seedsmen that originally released it.
Planting Instructions: Loosen rich well-drained soil in a location that receives six to eight hours of full sunlight per day. Add compost or fertilizer before planting.

Plant seeds directly outdoors in spring or fall when temperatures are cool. Plant 1½ inches deep, one to two seeds every two inches. Keep moist until germination. Thin to one plant every two inches in rows spaced thirty inches apart.

Good plant health and a good flavor in 2018. Purchasing again for 2019.

Every single pea I planted germinated! They were the first thing to be planted outside last spring so they got lot of attention but they grew so nice on their own. The trellis I made was not tall enough and I had to get creative. The pods were flawless and so good to eat raw. Aphids covered my plants at one time but I hand squished them for a few days and they never returned. A harsh windstorm finally knocked out my trellis and I pulled everything out but I will definitely be planting these every year.

Very good and sweet, barely made it out of the garden. I made a mistake by following square foot gardening spacing for these, so they were overcrowded, but the ones I kept produced very well. Purchasing them again :)
