Year 1, plants did well, flowered heavily on moderate-sized plants. Year 2, new plants came up as volunteer seeds from previous year, some plants overwintered and gave an early start, ended up blooming for most of the warm season. Year 3, many plants overwintered. Massive growth and an absolute riot of blooms. The aroma on a summer early evening is enough to make you return to your garden over and over again. Flowers open in the morning and evening, closing somewhat during the heat of the day, but they are always buzzing with skippers, moths, butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Pairs really nicely with tall zinnias. Now that year 4 is approaching, the bed has gotten easier to weed, as the Nicotiana does a good job suppressing weeds. I know they are considered tender perennials, but I piled compost very high on the bed in year one, and the soil is fertile and deep, allowing the roots to survive two winters so far. Even if the plants die, self sowing seeds will keep this bed going. I planned for one year of flowers, but have gotten so much more

Wow! Not only the best selection with great information on the website, Jon personally helped me with my first round of germination / seedlings to a great success. I highly recommend Victory Seeds.

I grew these for the first time this year and plan on growing them from now on. They are a nice mix with other flowers, and, even now in October, they are still going strong!
