Sparky Mix French Marigold is an easy-to-grow, fast-maturing Marigold that produces vibrant, medium-sized blooms with wavy, semi-double petals. Flowers come in a mix of red, gold, orange, yellow, and bicolored shades. Plants typically reach 12 to 20 inches in height and bloom continuously over a long season. Flowers first appear around 65-70 days from planting.

Despite the name "French marigold," Tagetes patula is actually native to Mexico and Guatemala. Long before the arrival of the Spanish, marigolds were used by indigenous civilizations for medicine, food, dyes, and ceremonial purposes.

Sparky Mix has compact plants, making it well-suited for containers, garden beds, borders, and pollinator gardens. It's also commonly planted in vegetable gardens for its natural ability to help deter insect pests. They thrive in a range of conditions and look great along walkways, fences, or as colorful edging in garden beds. Each packet contains 0.25 grams, which is approximately 75 seeds.

For the earliest blooms, start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Otherwise, sow directly outdoors after the danger of frost has passed. Seeds germinate in 7 to 21 days under full light. Plant 2–3 seeds ¼ inch deep and space them about 6 inches apart in well-drained, evenly moist soil in full sun.

Sparky Mixture marigolds are relatively low-maintenance but require good air circulation and drainage to prevent disease. They may be susceptible to powdery mildew, root rot, leaf spots, and Botrytis in humid or poorly ventilated conditions. While marigolds generally have no serious pest issues, it's a good idea to check regularly for spider mites and thrips.
