90 days — 'Salad King' endive is giant and grows vigorously, resists bolting, tip burn, and frost. The outer leave can be tied to blanch a heart that can reach up to two feet in height. It was introduced in 1957 and is well adapted for the Western United States. Each packet contains one gram, which is approximately 450 seeds.
Planting Instructions: Endive is generally very easy to grow. You can start indoors or plant directly in the garden. Good results are had by planting in beds, ¼ inch deep, covered with light soil, one to two inches apart. Thin to six to eight inches apart
Once the plants are mature, tie the leaves together to blanch the heart.
If you plan to save seed, care should be taken to ensure that Endive and Chicory are not in close proximity (at least 500 feet) as cross-pollination will occur. Endive will tolerate light frosts.

My first time to grow endive. Our spring heated up quicker than usual, so my next planting of this will be in some shade. It germinated quickly and grew easily. I made up some Curly Endive Salad with bacon and garlic dressing on it and it was delicious. I will definitely buy again! :)
