Red Grape Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Price: $3.95

SKU: 3400731

60 days, semi-determinate - 'Red Grape' fruit are bright red, weigh about one ounce each, and are generally smaller than most cherry-type tomatoes (½ by ¾ inches). Since they are mouth-sized, they are perfect for snacking, salads, and garnish plates. There are often twelve to sixteen fruit per cluster.

This is a modern open-pollinated variety that has become very popular due to its excellent flavor and small, snack-sized shape. You have probably eaten these when you ordered a dinner salad at a restaurant or visited a salad bar.
Tomato Uses: Small Fruits / Salads
Fruit Color: Red
Special Groups: "Epic" Tomatoes
Harvest Timing: Early/Short Season
Growth Habit: Determinate
Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

★★★★★ Heavy Producer
By Nicholas Adcock on July 27, 2020

These are heavy producers and have handle a harsh central Illinois wind of 50+ MPH. They have a great flavor to go along with a great yield.
