85 days, dwarf — 'Potentate' has rugose, regular-leaf plants that are compact, reaching about three feet in height, and that are very productive. Its red colored fruit range in weight from two to six ounces each, are somewhat oblate shaped, tending to be a bit asymmetrical and blocky, with flesh that is juicy, mild flavored with a tart aftertaste.
An old English variety, 'Potentate' does well in greenhouse environments or in the field. Our seed originated from USDA GRIN accession number PI 286253. The accession was donated into the USDA on January 29, 1963 by the Glasshouse Crops Research Institute, United Kingdom. Each packet contains at least 20 seeds.
