Potato Leaf Yellow Tomato
Price: $4.45
SKU: 34047741Originally sent to Craig LeHoullier by SSE member Barbara Lund of Ohio in 1990. Barbara thought of this variety as a bit of a mystery, seeming to originate from a branch from a pink potato leaf variety. This rare tomato was among Craig's favorite heirloom varieties in his early 1990s gardens when he really delved into growing heirloom varieties.
After a long absence from his annual gardens, Craig discovered that the last seed he had saved in 2003 was too old to germinate. An inquiry to the Seed Savers Exchange resulted in a sample of his original seed being returned to him from their cold storage. A star in Craig's 2023 and 2024 gardens (his wife Susan's favorite tomato from those two seasons), he decided it is time that this wonderful tomato was made more easily available for the gardening public to enjoy.
It was commercially introduced by the Victory Seed Company to the gardening public for the 2025 season.
Fruit Color: Yellow
Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.
Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.
