Polish Dwarf Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Price: $2.95

SKU: 3402011

60 days, dwarf - 'Polish Dwarf' is an early season, tree-type plant with rugose leaves. It reaches twenty-four to thirty inches tall and produces one to four ounce, red, globe-shaped fruit that are slightly indented at the stem end. Very productive and keeps producing throughout the season.

Originally from Poland, our parent stock source was donated to the USDA's gene bank in February of 1965. The USDA ARS accession number PI 304398.

Fruit Color: Red
Special Groups: Container Friendly
Harvest Timing: Early/Short Season
Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

★★☆☆☆ Boring!
By Katherine (Austin, Texas) on December 9, 2022

Sadly, I bought the wrong Polish tomatoes when I bought these Polish Dwarfs. The plants are healthy and loaded with tomatoes. Unfortunately, they are incredibly bland and watery. I will not be planting these again. Luckily, there are lots of other excellent tomato seeds sold, here. Next!
