Determinate - 70 days to maturity. Patio Tomato is a dwarf, determinate tomato developed for container gardening and small spaces. The plants stay compact, reaching about 2 feet tall with rugose regular leaves. For decades it has been one of the most popular tomato varieties in America for growing on patios, decks, balconies, courtyards, and anywhere garden space is limited. It also does well as a hanging basket tomato.
The fruit is red, medium-sized, and about 3 to 4 oz each. The tomatoes are round and slightly flattened (deep oblate), with smooth skin, firm flesh, and a sweet, classic tomato flavor. Yields are high for such a small plant. It is resistant to Fusarium wilt (F), Alternaria stem canker (A), and gray leaf spot (St).

Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.
Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.
Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.
