Love-in-a-Mist 'Miss Jekyll'
Love-in-a-Mist 'Miss Jekyll'
Nigella damascena
Love-in-a-Mist plants are branched, eighteen to twenty four inches tall with leaves that are finely divided and thread-like. The flowers are blue, pink and white, borne at the ends of stems.
Native to the Mediterranean and western Asia. Plants prefer full sun to partial shade with moderate soils. Blooms quickly, but not tolerant of summer heat. Best direct sown in early spring as it does not transplant well due to taproot. This annual readily reseeds itself. The papery, horned seed capsules are often used in dried floral arrangements. Each packet contains 0.25 gram, which is approximately 50 seeds.
