Main Crop Pink
70 days, indeterminate — The regular leaf plants of 'Main Crop Pink' are vigorous, producing fruit that average about six ounces but can reach twenty ounces. It is a nice flavored, juicy but firm, slicer.Introduced in by the Livingston Seed Company in 1941, here is their description from the 1941 wholesale catalog:
"Our New Introduction for 1941 - We are pleased to introduce this new variety which is just what its name implies. The fruit are of Livingston's Beauty type but average somewhat larger and are deeper through, making a most handsome tomato. In trials placed with several large market gardeners in 1940 it proved highly satisfactory and profitable. Excellent for green wrap purposes and for picking green before frost to color up in storage."[1]
Our original seed source was USDA accession number NSL 193991. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
