Libby's Pride
80 days, indeterminate — The plants have regular leaf foliage and are a good producer. The paste-type fruit are long (up to five inches), red, meaty with few seeds, and often have a pronounced protrusion on the blossom end.We received our original seed from Dr. Carolyn Male (NY MA C). She detailed its history as being brought to the Cleveland, Ohio area in the 1960s from the Campobasso Province of Italy by Donaldo Morganti. He gave seeds to a business partner named Liberatore "Libby" Noce who in 2006 gave the seeds to Carl Skalak, who named the variety 'Libby's Pride'. Mr. Skalak gave seeds to Dan Misztal who ultimately gave seeds to Dr. Male. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
