'Lemon' Summer Squash
Cucurbita pepo
Cucurbita pepo
60 days —Although there is some shape variability, as its name implies, the bright yellow fruit of 'Lemon' summer squash resemble lemons. Harvested when young, they are tender, delicious, tasty, and a popular choice for both home and market gardeners. Its bush-type plants are heat tolerant, somewhat sprawling and if you keep them harvested, they are quite productive. Each packet contains one gram, which is about 15 seeds.
Planting Instructions:
Choose a location that has warm, well-drained and fertile soil. Work in plenty of organic matter and mulch to conserve moisture.
Sow directly into the garden after any threat of frost has past. Sow one inch deep in hills or rows spaced 24 to 30 inches apart.
