Matures approximately 290 days from fall planting. Korean Red is a hardneck variety with distinct red striped bulbs. Each bulb contains 6 to 8 easy-to-peel medium to large cloves.
Korean Red has a very strong, even spicy, flavor, and so is often used in stir fry, salsa, soup, or marinade. The flavor is bold and sharp when used raw, but mellows into a fuller, deeper flavor when it is cooked.
Very hardy and grows well in northern climates, where it can handle harsh winters without trouble. When properly cured and stored, Korean Red stores for about 5 to 6 months.
