Nicotiana tabacum L
[ Approximately 100 seeds per packet ]
Keller is a "Maryland-type" of tobacco historically grown for use in pipe and cigarette tobacco blends. It was also used as cigar filler. USDA accession number PI 552669.
Note: Maryland-type tobacco plants are tall with large leaves that are air-cured like Burley-types, but darker green. Cured leaf can be mottled in color but has excellent burning properties, neutral aroma, and low to medium nicotine levels. Reportedly used in certain American and Swiss cigarette brands.
Tobacco plants are very interesting, ornamental, and have uses apart from consumption. This section of the website is intended for the historical and informational purposes of thinking adults. Anyone who has been raised since the turn of the 20th century already knows that tobacco can be addictive and can contribute to various medical ailments. If you do not smoke, it would seem illogical to start. We in no way encourage people to use any form of tobacco product.
