Katinka Cherry Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Price: $2.95

SKU: 3401751

69 days, indeterminate - The regular leaf plants ofย  'Katinka Cherry' are vigorous and amazingly productive. The fruit are small, averaging one-half to one ounce in weight, and are golden-orange in color. The flavor is excellent making them a perfect snacking tomato.

We originally received 'Katinka Cherry' from author and tomato authority Craig LeHoullier, who received it from Reinhard Kraft of Germany. Mr. Kraft informed us that it was originally a Russian variety.

We have grown this variety since 2005 and continue to select for purity. At this time, a small percentage of plants may throw darker orange to red colored fruit.
Tomato Uses: Small Fruits / Salads
Fruit Color: Orange
Fruit Color: Yellow
Harvest Timing: Early/Short Season
Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60ยฐ to 70ยฐ) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… Don't look now!

After I planted these tomatoes all I heard from my wife was, Don't look now, you got more little tomatoes. Excellent germination rates, prolific, early to set fruits, tolerated high heat and humidity without fungus or mold, and what a delicious flavor. These have become my favorite.
