Jaune Flammée Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Price: $3.95

SKU: 3403711

80 days, indeterminate - 'Jaune Flammée', also sold as "Jaune Flamme" and 'Flamée', translates literally to "yellow flame." It has sturdy plants that produce clusters of small, two to four ounce, apricot-orange colored fruit that deliver an excellent, fruity flavor that is a nice balance of sweet and tart.

According to Dr. Carolyn Male, "This is a small tomato with a very big taste. The flavor literally bursts in your mouth, refreshing and not at all bland."[1]

'Jaune Flammée' is an heirloom tomato variety that originated with Norbert Perreira of Helliner, France and introduced commercially in the United States by Tomato Grower's Supply in 1997. Our seed stock was grown out from seed obtained from the Seed Savers Exchange.
Tomato Uses: Small Fruits / Salads
Fruit Color: Orange
Fruit Color: Yellow
Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.
