Green Zebra

75 days, indeterminate — The fruit of 'Green Zebra' are yellow-green with darker green vertical stripes covering approximately 60%[1] of the tomato. They range in size from 1½ to 2½ inches in diameter, weigh from two to three ounces and have emerald-green flesh. They are mild flavored but fruity, tart, sweet and not bland. They get soft as they turn from green to yellow.

The plants are very productive and compact for an indeterminate growth habit. It was bred by Tom Wagner and introduced in 1983 by Tater-Mater Seed. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.

These are great tasting tomatoes. They are easy to grow and pretty prolific. The stripes make them a good conversation piece. I mix them with red tomatoes when I can salsa and it looks nice. They have a good texture - not tough outsides with squishy seed segments - the are juicy and tender throughout. They can be a little hard to tell if ripe so you have to look for the background color (not the stripes) to yellow a bit before harvesting.
