Green Doctors Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Price: $2.95

SKU: 3402261

85 days, indeterminate - 'Green Doctors' is a very good tasting cherry tomato with fruit that are green (as the name implies), small (under an ounce), round and very tasty.

It is a sport of the yellow cherry tomato, 'Dr. Carolyn' that Amy Goldman of New York found in her garden in 2002. She subsequently released it to the SSE in 2007. It was named in honor of Dr. Carolyn Male and Dr. Amy Goldman.[1] (It also happens to be the name of a well known trout fly.) This variety was sent to us by our friend, the late Dr. Carolyn Male (NY MA C).

Tomato Uses: Small Fruits / Salads
Fruit Color: White
Fruit Color: Green
Special Groups: "Epic" Tomatoes
Harvest Timing: Late Season
Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

★★★★★ Refreshing and great producer
By Rosa Dee (Concord, NC) on June 23, 2025

1st green tomato in my garden. Although it is a challenge to know when ripe, once you figure it out, it is wonderful. It has a clean sweet taste. I love it! Going to be one of my standby cherries because it is a heavy producer and very disease resistant. It gets tall in my garden, 7 feet by June 23. Growing Cherokee green and Aunt Ruby because I liked this tomato. I didn't know I would love ripe green tomatoes.
