Classified as a "flue-cured" type tobacco, 'Gold Leaf' was historically used for cigarette blending. The plants grow to about forty-four inches tall when topped, or can reach six feet when allowed to develop its attractive pink flowers.
Its slightly undulating, puckered leaves are much longer than they are wide, with their widest point below their middle. Typical leaves are eight inches wide by twenty-four inches long. Our seed originated from USDA accession number PI 552643 and was sent to us by David Pendergrass from Tennessee.
