Galina Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Price: $2.95

SKU: 3403631

75 days, indeterminate - Also known as 'Galina's Yellow' and 'Galina's Yellow Cherry', 'Galina' has potato leaf plants that bear large clusters of one-inch, yellow colored, cherry tomatoes that have a very sweet, tasty, well-balanced but complex flavor.

Originating in Siberia, 'Galina' was one of many varieties brought back from a 1989 trip to the Soviet Union and introduced commercially by High Altitude Gardens in 1991. We received our original 'Galina' seeds from David Pendergrass of Middle Tennessee.
Tomato Uses: Small Fruits / Salads
Fruit Color: Orange
Fruit Color: Yellow
Harvest Timing: Main Crop / Mid-Season
Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

★★★★☆ Great flavor, vigorous grower
By Knut Boersma on March 19, 2016

This is the best tasting cherry type I've grown thus far in our cool summers. It doesn't yield as well as I would have hoped, bearing shorter clusters that ripen a bit randomly, but I think the flavor is worth the space. I'd grow it again
