Florida Pink Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Price: $3.95

SKU: 3400581

90 days, indeterminate - Giant, light pink fruit grow to two pounds or more, but are incredibly productive for such a large tomato. The fruit is virtually crack-free and smooth in shape except for ribbing at the shoulders. It is very juicy with delicious, sweet flavor.

David Pendergrass in Tennessee writes, "I had 'Florida Pink' planted in the worse place possible. Poor ground, little fertilizer and drought stricken land. It produced a large crop in spite of all this. My fruit was not ribbed. Has very dark green shoulders. Great taste. My average was a pound per fruit. Looking forward to planting in a better spot."
Fruit Color: Pink
Fruit Color: Purple
Harvest Timing: Late Season
Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.
