Mid to Late-season, dwarf — The rugose, regular leaf plants of 'Dwarf Suz’s Beauty' produce lots of medium sized, five to eight ounce, slightly oblate shaped, bright yellow colored tomatoes with red stripes. The flesh is yellow with a central red blush. Its flavor is distinctive, assertive and well balanced.
The "Beauty" family originated from a cross made by Vincent Lavallo between Dwarf Tomato Project release 'Dwarf Wild Fred' and the indeterminate variety 'Beauty King'. 'Dwarf Suz’s Beauty' was selected and named by Susan Oliverson. Others who contributed to this release are Craig LeHoullier, Nancy Ruhl, Suzane Dzejachok, Carolyn Keiper, and Sandra Tipton, with Bill Minkey growing out the final release seed. Each packet contains at least 20 seeds.
In an effort to keep this variety available to home gardeners, 'Dwarf Suz’s Beauty' has been released by "The Dwarf Tomato Project" (the breeder) to the public under the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI). You have the freedom to use these OSSI-Pledged seeds in any way you choose. In return, if you save seeds or use 'Dwarf Suz’s Beauty' to breed a new variety, you pledge not to restrict others' use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.
