80 days, dwarf — The rugose, regular leaf plants of 'Dwarf Snakebite' grow from three to four feet tall and produce four to sixteen ounce, pink colored, oblate shaped fruit that are tasty, tangy and tart. A very nice slicing tomato.
The "Dwarf Tomato Project's" "Grizzly" family was created by Patrina Nuske Small by crossing the old, historic dwarf variety 'New Big Dwarf' with indeterminate tomato 'Grozny '91'. From this family, 'Dwarf Snakebite' was selected and named by Amanda Fischer. Along with Patrina and Amanda, others involved with creating this variety were Craig LeHoullier, Michael Volk, Sherry Long, Damon Huck, Shawn Conant, Bill Minkey, Mike Dunton, and John Dunton. Each packet contains at least 20 seeds.
In an effort to keep this variety available to home gardeners, 'Dwarf Snakebite' has been released by "The Dwarf Tomato Project" (the breeder) to the public under the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI). You have the freedom to use these OSSI-Pledged seeds in any way you choose. In return, if you save seeds or use 'Dwarf Snakebite' to breed a new variety, you pledge not to restrict others' use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.
