80 days, dwarf — The plants of 'Dwarf Scarlet Heart' are compact, dwarf in habit with rugose, regular leaves producing heavy yields of small (three to six ounce), red, heart-shaped fruit that possess a well-balanced, full, delicious flavor.
'Dwarf Scarlet Heart' originated as a selection from the "Dwarf Tomato Project" family called "Nosey" (a cross between 'Roza Vetrov' and 'Anna Banana Russian' made by Patrina Nuske Small in 2007). Stabilization work was done by Craig LeHoullier, Linda Black, Laurie Sutherland, Nancy Ruhl, and Bill Minkey. The final selection and naming by Linda Black and it was introduced by the Victory Seed Company for the 2016 gardening season. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
In an effort to keep this variety available to home gardeners, 'Dwarf Scarlet Heart' has been released by "The Dwarf Tomato Project" (the breeder) to the public under the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI). You have the freedom to use these OSSI-Pledged seeds in any way you choose. In return, if you save seeds or use 'Dwarf Scarlet Heart' to breed a new variety, you pledge not to restrict others' use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.
