Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.
Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

This is one of my absolute favorite purple tomatoes as well as in my top 5 dwarf tomatoes. The plant is compact and productive, and the flavor is savory, sweet, rich-the whole gorgeous package. This tomato is on my "must grow" list every year!

This was the most prolific of all the large fruited tomatoes we grew this year and I love the unique color and shape....The larger ones look just like a heart.

Im a believer! This was my first year growing dwarf tomatoes specifically. My experimental garden consisted of 43 tomato plants. Of those, 33 were dwarfs. Purple heart throb was a beautiful success. I had 2 of these plants in 5 gal grow bags and they are just now finishing up. I am saving seed for next year. I live in a high-wind zone 9. The dwarfs were perfectly suited with support.

This tidy plant really does show the dwarf growth habit clearly - it is relatively upright and narrow, and produces sprays of flowers that turn into the most attractive round, bright yellow cherry tomatoes. The flavor is very pleasant and well balanced, mildly sweet, and this tomato is perfect for slicing into salads or skewering and grilling. It seems to handle foliage diseases and hot humid spells very well.

Dwarf Purple Heartthrob has it all - great production, distinct heart shaped fruit that are purple with nearly metallic looking greenish vertical striping, and a deep crimson interior typical of the black tomato varieties. To top it all off, it is delicious - full flavored and well balanced. This is sure to be a conversation piece in your garden, or on your table.
