Dwarf Peppermint Stripes Open Source Seed Initiative

85 days, dwarf — 'Dwarf Peppermint Stripes' has rugose, regular-leaf plants that produce oblate shaped, green fruit with light and dark green and pink stripes, with flesh that is green with some pink marbling. They average eight to twelve ounces each and are a delicious slicer.

'Dwarf Peppermint Stripes' was selected from the "Beauty family"by Craig LeHoullier, who also named it. Stabilization work was performed by Craig with additional help from Dwarf Tomato Project volunteers, Michael Volk, Richard Watson, Bill Yoder, Dee Sackett and Karl Johnson. Bill Minkey produced the seed for its initial 2018 introduction. Each packet contains at least 20 seeds.

★★★★★ Another that I finally got around to growing - and I am glad I did!
By Craig LeHoullier (Hendersonville, NC) on December 8, 2023

This tomato is gorgeous, prolific and delicious. Though I was involved in its development, it has been years since I grew it (and the first time growing the released version). The light and dark green striped tomatoes, with shades of pink, have full flavor. I loved it!

★★★★★ Surprisingly Wonderful
By Brian Mitchell on October 19, 2020

I had heard good things about this tomato, but it even exceeded those expectations for me. To start, it is an oblate, medium-sized (for me, it averaged around 8 ounces), green-when-ripe tomato with stripes and a faint pink marbling on the blossom end and interior - it is truly a sight to behold. The flavor is intense and it has a pleasingly noticeable acidic tang (but not sour, by any stretch of the imagination). It is also moderately juicy. The plant was very productive and didn't succumb to the 2020 extended heatwave. This variety is truly a keeper and will go into my permanent rotation, which is likely the highest praise I can give.
