Dwarf Noah's Stripes Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Price: $3.95

SKU: 3405011

85 days, dwarf - The productive rugose, regular leaf plants of 'Dwarf Noah's Stripes' produce medium to large, four to ten ounce, smooth skinned,ย oblate shaped fruit that are purple with distinct green colored striping and a deep crimson interior. An excellent slicing tomato, they possess a rich, lovely flavor that is well balanced between sweet and tart.

Originating from the Dwarf Tomato Project's "Beauty" family, 'Dwarf Noah's Stripes' was named by Nancy Ruhl. Contributors were Craig LeHoullier, Susan Oliverson and Bill Minkey. It was introduced by the Victory Seed Company for the 2021 gardening season.
Special Groups: Container Friendly
Special Groups: Dwarf Tomato Project
Harvest Timing: Main Crop / Mid-Season
Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60ยฐ to 70ยฐ) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

I have grown DNS for three years using CL's suggested grow bags. I distribute them to great anticipation at my retirement community as this seems to be the Best of the Best for flavor. Don't wait to the new year to order!

By Emily Johnston on August 26, 2021

I picked this variety to try because my son's name is Noah, and I was more than pleased that this was a prolific producer of fruit that is not only excellent in flavor but also beautiful. The tomatoes were good sizes with no cracking after a week of daily heavy rain. This is a new favorite for me. I hope to grow it every year. I would provide photos if that were an option.
