Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.
Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

These are pretty bland tomatoes, but are very prolific. Not good as a fresh slicer in my opinion. But when I roasted them at a high temp to get a char they were much better for freezing and canning. I won't grow them again though.

I grew for of this variety in 14" pots. They did well. They required staking and there was a good fruit yield. The tomatoes were tasty. The photo, taken 9/27, is of a leftover plant that I finally tossed in a raised bed in mid-June. It's currently the size of a determinant but fruiting like an indeterminate! This may not be the "purpose" of dwarf plants but I am definitely going to consider this variety as part of the mix for my determinant varieties next year.

Don\'t want to underplay the delicious fruits of this tomato, but the really amazing attribute of this tomato is it\'s persistence! I had a weird herbicide issue, weird weather, and inadequate light try to take this plant out in different areas of my garden at different times of the season. Melanie\'s Ballet was a miracle tom last season, refusing to be taken out under every unfavorable condition. This season (using second year old seed, btw) I was able to give her the much better conditions, and I was rewarded by early and constant production. This won\'t be the biggest tomato in your garden, but it will be prolific and delicious! Great in a salad, but also awesome slow roasted for sauce.

This tomato is a delight. While not the most intensely flavored of the new dwarf varieties, it is a tomato machine. The medium sized oval shape is quite unique, and the glowing pink tomatoes, when cut, reveal a juicy interior, yet meaty enough to use in sauces. The flavor is pleasant, mildly sweet, and quite yummy.
