★★★★★ Our favorite dwarf
By Teresa (Denver CO) on April 25, 2024

We got one of these plants from a neighbor years ago and were so pleased with the flavor that we ordered seed for the next fall. I've now grown maybe twenty of the dwarfs and this is our HG. It seems to come in a bit earlier than others here (we have a short season and dwarfs run late). They're not huge but very tasty - right up there with our main crop black tomatoes. Little less prone to leaf diseases as other dwarfs. I grew them one year alongside Rosella Purple as that one is popular here - similar taste, RP was a little bigger and prettier but also later. We stick with Mahogany.

★★★☆☆ Dwarf mahogany

This was a 5 star tasty tomato. I only gave 3 stars because I started all the seeds and only one plant survived. But it finally produced 4 little tomatoes on a tiny little plant. They were the best tasting of all my tomatoes! I would like to grow more of these but I'm afraid to spend the money on seeds that might not germinate.

★★★★★ Reliable producer in our hot and humid climate

Mahogany has show more resistance to splitting and foliage disease where we garden, which is to be expected from it's Cherokee Purple lineage. No tomatoes close to 20 oz, most in the 6-12 oz range. Great flavor too.

★★★★☆ A very Cherokee Chocolate-like tomato on a tidy dwarf plant
By Craig LeHoullier on February 9, 2022

We have some fine chocolate colored tomatoes in our project, and this fits that description nicely. The color and size is similar to Tasmanian Chocolate, but it is a bit later to yield and has a more intense, rich flavor. This is just a wonderful, colorful slicing tomato.
