SKU: 3403881My first year growing Dwarf Tomatoes and I am sold out on them. This variety is delicious and I will always grow them. The tomatoes are beautiful, even when they are green. The plant is healthy. i have this plant with 3 other dwarfs in a bed in my front yard, and people comment on how healthy the plants look. Planted this spring, in a raised bed that I filled with the lasagna gardening method this past fall. The nice thing about the Dwarf Tomatoes is easy handling, just a sturdy tomato cage and great for home gardens.
Dwarf Firebird Sweet is a medium-to-large (5-12+ ounce; though most of mine were around 7 ounces) pink tomato with yellow stripes. It is a slightly flattened globe shaped fruit with a somewhat meaty interior flesh and not too many seeds. This makes it versatile enough to be used in all situations, including sliced for sandwiches. It also has a nice balance between sweetness and acidity. It isn't a mild or bland tomato at all... in fact, I'd give it a very solid 8/10 for flavor.
2021's turbulent weather didn't seem to negatively affect this plant (I saw no blossoms dropped) and the yield was consistently high for a dwarf. I will be happy to grow this again in the future and I can definitely recommend this to all.
I'm blown away by the quantity and beauty of this tomato!! gorgeous plants and easy to care for, plus some fine tomato sandwiches!! Thank you Dwarf Tomato Project ....
This is my first year growing this, and I'm so glad that I did. Melts in your mouth with a rich, sweet and mildly tangy taste. Very little cracking or other deformities for me, grown in an Earth Box. It is also bothered very little by Septoria. This is one of the best tomatoes ever! I would point out that my stripes are not gold, but green/bronze, and they do stay that way. But that detracts nothing from this fine tomato.
