90 days, dwarf — The rugose, regular leaf plants of 'Dwarf Chocolate Heartthrob' are prolific. Its fruit are six to ten ounces each, strongly heart-shaped, and a rich mahogany chocolate in color with nearly metallic looking green stripes. The interior is a rich burgundy crimson with a well balanced, very delicious and classic "tomato-ey" flavor.
'Dwarf Chocolate Heartthrob" is the second release from the promising and colorful Dwarf Tomato Project's "Hearty" family, the primary development work was carried out by Vince Lavalle, Bill Yoder and Craig LeHoullier (and named by Bill and Craig). Breeding contributors are Dan Follett, Ted Maiden, Mickey Pasco-Powell, Susan Oliverson, Heide Dolan, John Cook, and Bill Minkey. It was introduced by the Victory Seed Company in 2022. Each packet contains at least 20 seeds.

In an effort to keep this variety available to home gardeners, 'Dwarf Chocolate Heartthrob' has been released by the "Dwarf Tomato Project" (the breeder) to the public under the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI). In return, if you save seeds or use 'Dwarf Chocolate Heartthrob' to breed a new variety, you pledge not to restrict others' use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.
