75 days, dwarf — 'Deaton's Dwarf' has rugose, regular leaf plants that grow to about thirty-six inches tall and produces good amounts of medium sized (ranging from three to eight ounces), juicy, round fruit that are chocolate colored (yellow skin over deep crimson flesh). The flavor is mild and well balanced with both sweet and tart elements.
The Dwarf Tomato Project's "Sneaky" family originated from a cross made by Patrina Nuske Small between 'Kangaroo Paw Yellow' and the indeterminate variety 'Grozny 91'. 'Deaton's Dwarf' was selected from this family and named by Amanda Fischer. Additional significant contributors were Ed Fizzell, Susan Oliverson, Bill Minkey, Mike Dunton and John Dunton. It was introduced by the Victory Seed Company in 2022. Each packet contains at least 20 seeds.
In an effort to keep this variety available to home gardeners, 'Deaton's Dwarf' has been released by the "Dwarf Tomato Project" (the breeder) to the public under the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI). You have the freedom to use these OSSI-Pledged seeds in any way you choose. In return, if you save seeds or use 'Deaton's Dwarf' to breed a new variety, you pledge not to restrict others' use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.
