Crimson Sweet
88 days — The fruit are light-green with dark-green stripes and average about twenty five pounds. The flesh is dark red with a fine texture and very sweet. It has small, dark seeds, is resistant to anthracnose and fusarium wilt, and is an excellent shipping variety.It was bred by Charles V. Hall while working at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas as a cross of ('Miles' x 'Peacock') x 'Charleston Gray'. After a decade of working on the variety, it was released in 1963. 'Crimson Sweet' quickly became the most popular variety grown throughout the United States. Each packet contains two grams, which is approximately 40 seeds.
Planting Instructions:
The seeds can be directly sown in spring after the soil has warmed or started indoors four weeks before the last expected frost. Indoors, plant two to three seeds per pot, ½ inch deep, thinning to the best plant. Do not disturb roots when transplanting.
Outdoors, plant three to four seeds, ½ inch deep, in hills spaced four to six feet apart. Transplant or thin to two plants per hill. Young plants are cold sensitive and some cover protection at nights may be required. Mulch or cultivate to control weeds.

Sweet and delicious flesh, what I consider a classic watermelon. Had some weigh in at 30 to 35 lbs. The rind is on the thinner side, grows well in our sandy soil and produces an abundance of vines. Very high germination rate, highly recommend.
