[ Approximately 100 seeds per packet ]
'Catterton' is a "Maryland-type" tobacco that is used for pipe and cigarette blending as well as for cigars. It is reportedly a cross between 'White Burley' with 'Maryland Broadleaf' and is resistant to black root rot. It also matures and is ready for harvesting an average of seven to ten days earlier than typical medium broadleaf varieties.
Bred by J. E. McMurtrey and released by the Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station. Our stock originated from the collection of David Pendergrass of the Middle Tennessee from USDA accession number PI 551332.
