Solanum lycopersicum

Price: $3.95

54 days. This is the "little sister" of the popular Early Girl hybrid tomato, and produces larger fruit than the original. Determinate dwarf plants reach a maximum of 3' tall and are perfect for patio containers or growing in small spaces. Fruit are 6 oz, high yields, and heat tolerant. If you want good sized tomatoes before anyone else in your neighborhood, this is a great choice.

Disease resistance of verticillium wilt, fusarium wilt races 1 and 2, root knot nematodes, and Tobacco Mosaic Virus.

Fruit Color: Red
Special Groups: Container Friendly
Growth Habit: Determinate
Genetic Classification: Hybrid
Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.

★★★★★ Reliable
By Rosadee (Concord, NC) on July 24, 2025

This is a workhorse and the most productive tomato plants this year in NC 8a.garden. Harvested a 100 off 4 plants. Baseball size, no blemishes, uniform, and medium red. 5 feet tall and bushy which helps to shield tomatoes from scorching southern sun. Disease resistance is fantastic had to prune little. Taste: clean, fresh, balanced tomato acid/sweet. Great for freezing after using food processor to chop up. A definite winner! Will grow again!

★★★★★ Big meaty slicing tomatoes
By Jim Lister (Wasilla Alaska sone 4B) on September 26, 2024

These Bush Early Girl F1 Hybrid tomatoes produce larger slicing tomatoes that are still meaty enough to make great tomato sauce. This example weighed in at 1.03 lbs. They are the only tomatoes that I grow in my Alaska greenhouse.

★★★★★ Greenhouse 5 gal grow buskets
By Jim Lister (Wasilla Alaska zone 4B) on October 11, 2023

★★★★★ Great early tomato!!
By Jim (Dayton, Nevada) on July 13, 2023

I like to grow heirlooms but have always planted Early girls to enjoy while I wait for the heirlooms. Now I will plant these Bush early girls to enjoy even before the regular Early girls come. Lots of BIG and great tasting tomatoes in a small footprint. Planed at the same time they came in big time a week before the regular early girls even started ripening! I had already harvested 6-8 tomatoes from the plant in the picture! 9 of 10 seeds germinated.
