Big Green Dwarf Certified Naturally Grown Seed

70 days, dwarf — 'Big Green Dwarf' is a rugose, regular leaf, dwarf variety producing medium to medium large (eight to fourteen ounce), oblate fruit that retain green flesh when ripe but develop an amber skin like 'Cherokee Green'. It offers a nice, well balanced, medium intensity flavor that is fruity, sweet and somewhat melon-like.

Developed by members of the "Dwarf Tomato Project" from a cross between 'Golden Dwarf Champion' and 'Cherokee Chocolate', 'Big Green Dwarf' is the result of the collaborative work of Patrina Nuske Small, Marjorie Holloway (who named it), Craig LeHoullier and Bill Minkey. Introduced in 2014, it is relatively stable, and although rare, an occasional plant will exhibit red fruit. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.

★★★★★ It's time to talk about how wonderful this tomato is!

Lots of gardeners have discovered the joy of Cherokee Green - the indeterminate treasure with green flesh, but yellow skin upon ripeness to help tell you when to harvest it. Think of Big Green Dwarf as a dwarf version of Cherokee Green. It is productive, the size is impressive, and the main difference is that the flavor has a bit more tartness to it when compared to Cherokee Green. Lots of folks like a sense of some acidity in their tomato (instead of the sweetness so prevalent in lots of heirlooms) - give this one a try.
