Indetermrinate, 80 days to maturity. Beefmaster Tomato is an F1 hybrid beefsteak tomato from the USA. The bright red tomatoes usually weigh 1 to 2 pounds each and have a sweet, meaty texture a classic tomato flavor. One fruit can give enough thick slices for several sandwiches. These tomatoes work well on sandwiches and burgers, in salads, and for fresh slicing.

Plants often reach about 6 feet tall and need strong stakes or cages to hold the weight of the fruit. The first ripe tomatoes come about 80 days after transplanting, followed by a steady supply through summer. This is one of the most disease-resistant tomato varieties available. It resists Verticillium wilt (V), Fusarium wilt (F), root-knot nematodes (N), Alternaria stem canker (A), Stemphylium gray leaf spot (St), and tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV). The fruit also resists cracking.

Sow seeds indoors (do not direct sow into the garden), using sterile seed starting mix, 6 to 8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Plant 1/4" deep, water lightly but keep moist until emergence.

Full light and cooler temps (60° to 70°) will help to prevent the seedlings from becoming too leggy. If plants become rootbound before you can safely set them into the ground, transplant them into larger pots.

Harden off plants before planting outside. Young plants are very susceptible to frost and sunburn damage. Avoid too much nitrogen. Water evenly but not in excess.
